Low-Sugar Green Smoothie

When it comes to smoothies and smoothie bowls (Acaí, I am looking at you!), many store-bought ones can be worse than eating an actual bowl of ice cream in regards to the amount of sugar they contain. They always add unnecessary amounts of sugar even if it comes from natural products such as honey, agave, granola and even extra fruit! When I make my own smoothies, I like to pick anywhere from 1-2 different fruits maximum such as berries or pineapple to keep it on the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to sugar. I also like to add my vegan protein powder so it keeps me full for longer, and my healthy fats to balance out my meal. I also pack it with greens to get extra nutritional benefits because you don't taste the greens with my delicious smoothie recipes! So go ahead, try making your own smoothie with these guidelines and send me your creations!
